As a Christian, I know that in terms of importance holidays, Easter trumps Christmas. After all, what does it matter if Christ was born, if He did not also die for us? However, each Easter season, I find myself struggling to find traditions or ways to celebrate this holiday that really honor Jesus. That is why I am excited about this new product. Behold the Lamb is a new product design to help your family truly celebrate the miraculous event that the Resurrection is. Behold the Lamb is an new devotional designed to allow your family to spend Holy Week (the seven days between Palm Sunday and Easter) preparing for Easter Sunday/ Resurrection Sunday.
Not only does this devotional allow you to talk about what Jesus went though His last week of life but it also is helps you and your family learn about what Jesus said about Himself. Behold the Lamb is based on the book of John. In the book of John, Jesus makes all of His “I AM” statements that He made while He was on earth - “I am the Bread of Life,” “I am the Light of the World,” “I am the True Vine,” “I am the Good Shepherd,” and so on. However, this resource goes beyond the book of John and ties the Old Testament account of God presenting Himself to Moses as “I AM” with what Jesus says about Himself. Each “I AM” statement is connected to the events that took place during Holy Week—the triumphal entry, and the overturning of the money-changers in the temple, the crucifixion.
For example, the devotional starts on Palm Sunday. The first card’s statement is taken from John 4 when Jesus said to the woman at the well, “I am the Messiah.” After reading about what it means when Jesus says “I am the Messiah,” you read a story that talks about what Jesus did on Palm Sunday—about His triumphal entry, and why He came on a donkey, and what that meant. So, as you read about His statement that He made about Himself, you are also learning about Palm Sunday, and the significance of that day, and the significance of what He did on that day.
The Behold the Lamb Easter Wreath kit includes a 15” wide metal wreath with folding metal stand in an antique white finish, a removable "I AM" metal centerpiece, and a card pocket containing eight “I AM” devotional cards to attach to the wreath. The resource is just not for Easter. The creator suggested using the wreath to hold family photos, birthday cards, or kids art projects. I am personally planning on using it to hold the Bible verses I am working on memorizing. In addition, the creator is planning on developing a new centerpiece with booklet and postcards for you to use with the wreath on the topic of gratitude in time for Thanksgiving. Eventually, the creator plans on expanding this resource to Valentine’s Day, Christmas, and Birthdays.
