Book Review – Why Do We Celebrate Easter
When I saw the title of this book, “Why Do We Celebrate Easter?”, I knew I had to review it. Why Do We Celebrate Easter? By Mark Sutherland is a great way to share the Easter story with the child in your life. Why Do We Celebrate Easter presents God's plan for our salvation that started at the creation of the world. The book quickly moves from creation and the Fall of Man, to the birth of Jesus, His ministry, the Last Supper, Jesus' death and His glorious Resurrection. While taking you through the story, Sutherland reminds the reader that everything that is happening is “was part of God's plan." This is a simple truth that still gives me comfort as an adult.
There are several other things that I love about this book. This book provides an excellent explanation of a Christian tradition for both children and adults. This book also includes a discussion guide at the end which allows you to delve deeper into the concepts presented. The discussion guide also includes a scripture reference guide. After reading this book, both children and adults will be able to answer the question “Why We Celebrate Easter?”
